The thistle is an ancient Celtic symbol for nobility, and was adopted by Scotland as a national emblem. Scottish legend tells of a time when the thistle plant alerted the Scottish army of an oncoming assault by Norse invaders. One of the Norseman stepped bare-footed upon the plant and shouted in pain, giving their position away. It is a symbol of protection and prickly determination.
The thistle plant is used in hex-breaking and protection magick. Wear this symbol as a representation of its protective qualities.
