In the epic poem Skírnismál, Freyr relinquishes his enchanted sword, a weapon that fought with its own will, in exchange for the hand of Gerd, a giant's daughter whose beauty rivaled the stars. Freyr's mystical arsenal boasts two dwarven-crafted wonders: Gullinbursti, a boar with a coat shimmering like spun gold, and Skíðblaðnir, a magical ship that could navigate any storm, its sails forever filled with a following wind. When not in use, Skíðblaðnir could be folded away, no bigger than a pocket watch, imbued with the magic of endless journeys.
